Emergency Garage Door Repair
Urgent attention for doors stalled mid-travel, jammed shut or hanging crooked.
View serviceMillcroft is the golf-course community in north Burlington, built over roughly two decades beginning in the 1980s with most properties completed in the 1990s and early 2000s. Homes tend to have double-car garages and are set back off the street, which local descriptions identify as the difference between Millcroft and the tighter frontages of Alton Village and The Orchard. Infill is live here too: the Millcroft Greens proposal at Country Club Drive was approved by the Ontario Land Tribunal for 90 single-detached lots across four parcels plus a six-storey apartment building on a fifth.

Millcroft is the golf-course community of north Burlington, built over roughly two decades beginning in the 1980s with most properties completed in the 1990s and early 2000s. Homes back onto an eighteen-hole course, and the stock runs to detached houses on large lots, upscale townhouses and bungalows scattered throughout. The distinguishing feature for our purposes is stated directly in local descriptions: homes here tend to have double-car garages and are set back off the street, which is the difference between Millcroft and the tighter frontages of Alton Village and The Orchard.
Millcroft is also where Burlington's infill debate is loudest. The Millcroft Greens proposal at Country Club Drive covers five parcels on the golf course, and the revised scheme takes in 90 single-detached lots across four of them, split 29, 40, 14 and 7, plus a six-storey residential apartment building on the fifth. The Ontario Land Tribunal has approved all of the applications. For existing homeowners the practical consequence is construction traffic and staging on streets that were designed for quiet golf frontage, with the usual knock-on effects for access.
Double doors on deep setbacks are the standard Millcroft job, and both halves of that phrase matter. A wide door needs its counterbalance matched to real weight, its drums wound evenly and its centre bearing sound, or it will travel out of square and wear its track unevenly. A deep setback means a long driveway, which is an advantage for staging work and a nuisance in winter, since everything that melts on the drive drains toward the lowest point, which is often the door. On houses from the 1990s the hardware is now at the age where original springs and rollers are being replaced for the first time, and the openers installed with them are on their second or third repair. Where a section has been damaged rather than the door worn out, matching a single panel is usually preferable on a street where appearance is part of the value.
Wide doubles from the 1990s are reaching first-replacement age for springs and cables, and on a golf-frontage street a matched section repair protects the appearance of the house as much as its function.

A real callout, not stock imagery.
A sectional door pulled off its tracks, taken down and supported on site so it could be checked and re-hung safely — photographed on the job.
